LOCAL KID - 3rd album, 1st as a trio
After being teased by the Long Distance Runner ep, Fur Patrol finally released their 3rd album, and first full length as a 3 piece. The album showcases how far they have come and how much they have evolved since the early days. A beautiful album full of floating loveliness and angles apparently.

COLLIDER - Album # 2
11 tracks of pure Furry rock. It took over 3 years for the follow up to Pet to make it onto shelves (October 24, 2003) but it was more than worth the wait. Collider is the triumphant end result of a couple of years of hard work in Australia and even features the backing vocal stylings of fellow ex-Wellingtonians Cassette.

COLLIDER - Vinyl Rarity
Something special for the collectors among us. This version of Collider is a little different in that the track listing not only strays from the original Collider, but also from what is listed on the back.

Long Distance Runner - Their first outing as a 3-piece unit
Released in May 2007, the longest wait yet yielded the band's first release in over 3 and a half years, and their first as a trio. Fur Patrol showed us what they'd been beavering away at over in Australia and hint at what is still to come in album # 3...

Starlifter - Our first taste of Fur Patrol
Released in late 1998, getting a copy of this e.p. was, like Lydia, no mean feat. It was walking out of the door pretty fast. The two videos, Dominoes and Beautiful, were both directed by Greg Page. Beautiful tells the tale of a truck (the band) who falls in love with its driver. Dominoes goes for the simple approach and features the band playing, knee deep in a cement pool, as the pool fills up with green frog filled water. Two tracks, Man In A Box and Not Your Girl, were re-recorded and released on Pet.

Get Along - Collider single #3
A song debuted moments after completion at a solo gig at Bar Bodega in February 2001, it evolved a lot from Julia's acoustic offering to the <cliche>sonic assault</cliche> that we now know. This one is accompanied by a very slick live video.

Fade Away - Collider single #2
The song formerly known as "New One" or "When they gave Simon a mic", featuring an Australian Effects and Animation Awards nominated video by Fuel International. The video sees the band plunging to their deaths through the sky. They seem to be in remarkable high spirits while doing it and belt out a wee song for us.
Tracks
Fade Away

Precious - First single off Collider
A response to the years of hard work leading up to the moment they break the world. The video has Julia luring fans into her lair where they get jumped by the boys and have their ears removed for Julia's ear collection. It's metaphorical... I hope. B-side is everyone's live favourite, ex-Pet hopeful, Counting Upside Down.

Released in both CD and vinyl during the 2003 Everything tour with Pacifier, two live tracks to promote the first single off Collider. Recorded and mixed by Tony Cohen on Friday the 13th, 2003.

Spinning A Line - Final Pet Single
The last release from Pet, Spinning A Line is a slow beautiful drifting song, accompanied by a very slow video, the band playing in super slow-mo in a giant empty hall.

Andrew - Single # 4
With the band now taking on Australia, B-sides were not coming hard and fast. Fabulous video containing some badass dance routines and Cassette. Sweet sweet Cassette. The radio version is slightly less rock and perhaps a little sparklier.

Lydia - #1 Single, Single # 3
Now impossible to get in New Zealand, the Lydia single sold out everywhere quicker than they could provide them. Unfortunately for those too slow or too simple to get a copy, they discontinued it in the midst of it's popularity. I suggest getting a copy from Australia. The video features Julia making a nuisance of herself on a man's date with "another" woman (Lydia) while the band "play" on.

Holy - Single # 2
Released in August 2000, this video features Julia Deans getting the crap kicked out of her by Dave Geard from D-Super. He wears a lovely blue suit while doing so. The Holy single features one of the Furs best songs, Fall.
